About my work

I get inspired by the big and the small things around me, from the commonplace to the sublime. My work is about seeing common subjects and themes and trying to see and understand them in fresh and deeper ways. We can only envision new things by synthesizing our experiences, observations and insights. I am fascinated by the poetic and interconnected metaphors to be found in the mundane. I explore topics through a variety of media, the properties of different media and ways of working informing and inspiring each other. My materials range from thrown and altered ceramic sculpture, to paper pulp, to different painting materials, and mixed media.
